The Delhi High Court issued a special order to protect the popular TV show, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. This order, known as a John Doe order, aims to stop people from illegally using the show’s content. The show's producer, Asit Kumar Modi, said that some social media accounts, websites, and YouTube channels were misusing their characters for personal gain. They were making animations, fake images, and even inappropriate content using the show’s characters. Additionally, some platforms were selling unauthorized merchandise.
Modi expressed his disappointment over the misuse of their hard work and thanked the court for recognizing the need to protect their creative work. He said the court’s order reassures everyone involved with the show that their efforts will be respected and protected, helping them continue creating content without fear of exploitation.
The court's order will also support the show's future plans for animation, gaming, and merchandise. The judge acknowledged the show’s iconic status and extended protection to not only known infringers but also to unknown ones involved in piracy and infringement.
