Delhi Police has introduced a new app called 'Kutumb' to enhance the safety and well-being of senior citizens. Launched by Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena, the app aims to make life easier and more secure for seniors in today's digital world.
With over 65,000 senior citizens already registered, the app ensures regular police visits to check on their safety. Senior Citizen Cells have been set up in all district offices, and special units are dedicated to protecting women, children, and seniors.
The app allows police to monitor these visits, assess the vulnerability of seniors, and gather data to address their needs. During visits, officers fill out reports to create a "vulnerability matrix," which helps identify and reduce risks for seniors over time.
A trial run in two districts saw more than 12,000 police visits tracked. The app also has a desktop version that lets police access location data and vulnerability scores, helping them provide better care and support.
