CE Info Systems, the company behind the MapMyIndia brand, has sent a legal notice to Ola Electric. They accuse Ola of copying their map data and reverse-engineering their app to create Ola Maps. This action came after their talks with Ola didn’t resolve the issue.
Ola Electric has responded by denying the allegations, calling them false and misleading. They say they’ll address the legal notice soon. The dispute also involves a claim that Ola Electric broke an agreement with CE Info Systems from June 2021.
This news comes as Ola Electric is preparing to launch a major initial public offering (IPO), worth Rs 6,100 crore. Ola's CEO, Bhavish Aggarwal, has mentioned on social media that Ola moved away from Google Maps to their own Ola Maps, which they developed in-house.
